Diploma in Cardio Vascular Technology (DCVT)

The DCVT course conducted in the College of Paramedical Sciences is approved by Paramedical council, Govt. of Kerala. The lecturer classes and practical training is given by the team of 5 Interventional Cardiologists and Technicians in the Department of Interventional Cardiology. The Hospital posses Flat Panel Cath Lab, 4 D Echocardiography, TMT and Holter Monitors in the Department                                        

Aim Of The Course

The DCVT course aims in providing education and training for students in Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory, Echocardiography, TMT, Holter Monitoring etc. On completion of the course the candidate will be able to work as Technicians in Cath Lab, Echocardiography, TMT etc.

Fee Structure

Students are liable to pay the fees fixed by the Government of Kerala at the time of admission.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

(a)  Candidates who have passed the Plus Two / Higher Secondary / Pre Degree examination from the Universities in Kerala with Physics, Chemistry, Biology as optional subjects or any other examination recognized by the Universities of Kerala as equivalent thereto shall be eligible for admission provided they have secured an aggregate of 50% marks in Optional subjects.
(b) Only Indian Citizens of Kerala origin shall be eligible for admission to the DCVT course.
(c) Age  Applicants shall have completed 17 years of age and upper age limit is 30 years.

SELECTION
Admission to the management seats shall be made on merit assessed on the basis of total marks secured by the candidate in Optional subjects ie, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the Higher Secondary Examination (+ 2) or its equivalent examination calculated on a maximum of 300 marks. In case there is a tie in the total aggregate marks in the optional subjects, candidate with higher marks for English at the Higher Secondary Examination
 (+ 2) will be ranked higher. If the tie still persist the total aggregate marks in the Higher secondary Examination (+2) will be ranked higher.

APPLICATION FORM
The application form and prospectus can be had from the Administrative Office of the Hospital on payment of Rs.150 in cash or on payment of Rs.180 as money order in the name of General Manager, College of Paramedical Sciences, EMS Memorial Co-operative Hospital & Research Centre, Perintalmanna

HOW & WHEN TO APPLY
Duly filled in application for shall reach the General Manager, College of Paramedical Sciences, EMS Memorial Co-operative Hospital & Research Centre, Perintalmanna on or before 24.11.2009.
Enclosures / Certificates to be provided along with the application form

1.    True copy of the relevant page of the SSLC or equivalent certificate to prove the date of birth
2.    Attested copies of mark lists of qualifying examination
3.    Recent photograph of the candidate to be affixed in the application form duly attested

DOCUMENTS TO BE PRODUCED AT THE TIME OF INTERVIEW
1.    Mark list of the qualifying examination in original
2.    Original certificates of the copies of which are enclosed with the application form
3.    A recent conduct certificate, obtained within 6 months

MEDICAL CHECK UP
Candidates provisionally selected for admission to the course shall undergo a thorough medical check up

DRESS CODE
The students shall observe the common dress code of the institution.

VACCINATION
All students shall get immunized against Hepatitis B and Tetanus

ATTENDANCE
The attendance shall be calculated from the date if commencement of the course that is December 1st and not from the date of joining of the individual candidate. A student shall have a separate minimum attendance of 80% in theory and practical in each subject to became eligible to appear for the Board Examination.
